Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Chargehand at our household waste recycling centre. As a Chargehand, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Site Supervisor in the safe and efficient operation of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring compliance with site licence, contractual conditions, and company policies.
  • Support the Site Supervisor with health and safety requirements, compliance responsibilities, and site management.
  • Act as the Site Supervisor in their absence, taking charge of the site and ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Segregate waste to maximize recycling rates and assist members of the public and other site users with waste disposal.
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping duties to site equipment and facilities.
  • Control site traffic and ensure safe and efficient site use.
  • Deal with unauthorized personnel and maintain centre records as necessary.
