Dementia Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dementia Support Worker to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and facilitating individualized activities for patients on our Assessment Unit.
Main Responsibilities
As a Dementia Support Worker, you will be responsible for promoting patient participation, social interaction, and self-esteem, while maintaining or enhancing functional ability. You will work closely with nursing staff to ensure patients receive the best possible care and experience during their hospital stay.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good standard of general education, equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or above. You should also have experience working in a caring environment, with a focus on patient participation and audit. Basic IT skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team are essential.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
A Dementia Friend qualification and previous experience working with elderly patients are desirable. You should also be able to undertake education and basic teaching of staff members, patients, and carers.
