Job Description

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of our students.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver activities tailored to the needs of students with ASC
  2. Develop holistic approaches to meeting student needs through action plans and strategies
  3. Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans, Risk Assessments, and Therapy Care programs
  4. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support
  5. Establish therapeutic relationships with students and adapt interactions to meet individual needs
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition or a willingness to learn
  • Good knowledge of SEN and a passion for developing your skills
  • Able to commit to working fixed days, full or part-time
  • NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Experience in residential support work, care, or support in schools
  • Personal experience of ASC in a school or personal setting
  • Training in Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling
  • Experience in developing independence in young people
  • Experience in supporting social and emotional development
