Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the CNC machine shop, ensuring maximum production levels across all machinery.
  • Manage a team of multi-skilled CNC machinists, providing guidance and support to ensure departmental goals are met.
  • Review works orders, allocate tasks based on machine and manpower availability, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Inspect parts for tolerance and conformance to customer drawings, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to reduce cycle times, tool wear, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, conducting risk assessments and equipment checks to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous leadership experience in a CNC machine shop, with a strong bias towards multi-axis milling and programming expertise.
  • Effective staff management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of machinists.
  • Demonstrable experience with health and safety, compliance, and best practices in manufacturing.
