Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Hitchin. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with SEND. This will include assisting with lesson plans, providing extra support to students, and recording and reporting student progress to the teacher.

Responsibilities:
  • Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with students who have Special Educational Needs
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation for students with SEND
  • Provide extra support to students with SEND, including helping with homework and projects
  • Record and report student progress to the teacher
  • Support students with their physical, social, and emotional well-being
  • Complete daily records for students
  • Assist with classroom preparation for the following school day
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and support the class teacher
  • Understanding of autism and other SEND conditions
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on a update service
