The SEMH Support Worker will work in a rural setting, providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. The role involves implementing individualized support plans, collaborating with teachers and therapists, and promoting positive mental health and emotional resilience.
Responsibilities- Establish strong relationships with students to encourage positive engagement and motivation.
- Develop and implement strategies to address emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties.
- Collaborate with educators and therapists to create a comprehensive care plan.
- Use de-escalation techniques and restorative practices to manage challenging behavior.
- Document progress and challenges, sharing insights with relevant staff members.
- A background in supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- You have a deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
- You are genuinely committed to making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
