Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at Essential Recruitment. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for producing new jigs, fixtures, and form tools to engineering drawings, as well as maintaining and repairing existing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce new jigs, fixtures, and form tools to engineering drawings
  • Maintain and repair existing jigs, fixtures, and form tools
  • Work closely with Tooling Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to provide cost-effective and efficient tooling solutions
  • Provide toolroom support to the maintenance department
  • Support Production by reacting effectively to breakdowns
  • Report issues to the Toolroom Supervisor or directly to stakeholders when required
Requirements
  • Be fully competent using manual lathes for turning details up to 1 meter diameter
  • Be fully competent using manual machines, including milling machines, radial arm drills, surface and cylindrical grinders
  • Hold all required hand and bench skills for jig and tool manufacture and maintenance
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operation and programming
  • Demonstrated experience of interpreting and understanding engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated experience of producing parts to tight tolerances
