Job Purpose: Contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by undertaking teaching, assessment and administrative duties at undergraduate level.

Main Duties:

  1. Contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of undergraduate teaching.
  2. Deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities towards undergraduate subjects.
  3. Participate in course administration duties, including effective communication, marking, assessment and feedback.
  4. Assist with developing teaching materials that meet learning objectives.
  5. Use learning technologies to support and enhance course delivery, including blended and online provision.
  6. Apply specialist knowledge to teaching that promotes inclusive and evidence-based learning outcomes.
  7. Participate in the full assessment process and provide timely feedback to students.
  8. Supervise student projects, dissertations and practical work.
  9. Engage in continuing professional development activities.
  10. Undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications: Honours degree (SCQF Level 10) relevant to the teaching area or expertise in a relevant field, together with teaching principles and assessment understanding. Registered for and working towards a PhD or PGT qualification in a relevant subject.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Expert knowledge of the subject area, experience of delivering undergraduate students, supervising and mentoring students, and relevant administrative experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to use IT software, and proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
