The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the public sector environment, with practical experience in managing high-quality external audits. They will be responsible for leading multiple audit teams, making complex audit judgments, and developing effective relationships with stakeholders.
The role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support team members to achieve their full potential. The candidate will also need to deliver high-quality reports and presentations, identify and develop relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and maintain a wide view of the external environment to understand any developments that could affect the context of the audit.
We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including 42 days' annual leave, an attractive local government defined benefit pension scheme, and flexible working hours.
