Job Description:

HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team.

This role would suit someone who has worked for the Royal Navy as a Weapons Engineer. The successful candidate will join and lead an established multi-discipline Ship Repair team of an innovative International Marine Company.

The key responsibilities of this position include:
  • Producing proper management of spare parts and deck/engine stores to assist vessel budgets.
  • Attending vessel dry docks, repairs, and producing surveys to determine repairs specifications for dry docks and overhauls.
  • Working closely with internal and external customers on technical and operational matters.
  • Carrying out inspections to ensure standards on board are maintained.
  • Supervising repairs and providing advice to contractors and ships' staff during maintenance.
  • Monitoring the Class and Flag State requirements and planning/supervising the required surveys ensuring that the certification of assigned vessels is maintained in accordance with the relevant Class and Flag State requirements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification to HNC/HND/Degree level or equivalent. They will also have good computer skills, be comfortable working with AutoCAD (or similar) for the production of schematics and layouts, and have experience of designing and managing industrial/marine installations to rigorous regulations and standards. It is essential that the candidate comes from a background dealing with commercial, passenger, or defence Refit/new builds and has a shipyard background.
