Surrey Highways has awarded a contract to maintain the county's highways for the next decade. Your tasks will include routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities on highways, roads, and associated infrastructure. This includes pothole repairs, surface treatments, drainage maintenance, and roadside verge management.

The ideal candidate will have experience in high-level highway maintenance, including drainage, patching, white works, responsive repairs, and structural work. Relevant qualifications like NRSWA Operatives Units 1-9, NHSS 12AB or NHSS 12D, and HGV class 2 would be beneficial. A full clean driving license is essential for this role. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks on highways, roads, and associated infrastructure.
  • Patching of potholes and repairing road surfaces, footpaths, and verges.
  • Conduct reinstatement activities in compliance with industry codes of practice.
  • Operate various tools and machinery safely and efficiently.


The estimated annual salary for this role is £25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
