About the Role:

Countrystyle Recycling is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Waste Recycling Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising the Gypsum shift and ensuring the safe and efficient processing of incoming plasterboard material.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain all machinery and plant to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct daily and weekly checks on plant and machinery to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and report daily production and downtime figures to the operations manager.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring all team members are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Inspect incoming loads to ensure compliance with site license and permitted waste types.
  • Report any contamination or non-conforming wastes, accidents, incidents, and near misses to the appropriate manager.
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Assist with supervisory duties and cover other operational positions as needed.
  • Manage stock rotation to comply with site permit requirements.
  • Conduct random checks and audits on plant machinery to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise all team members on shift to ensure they meet their objectives and job description duties.
Requirements:
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate and control equipment.
  • Time and priority management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment.
  • Previous experience in waste or quarrying industry, with operating plant such as 360 Material Handlers, loading shovels, telehandlers, forklift trucks, and shredders/screeners.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Plant tickets for 360 Material Handlers, loading shovels, telehandlers, and forklift trucks.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team.
  • Positive attitude.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with heavy plant and conveyors.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • First Aid.
  • IOSH Managing safely.
  • WAMITAB.
