Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Opentrons Labworks Inc. in the role of Advanced Robotics Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional maintenance and support services to our end-users for our robotics liquid handling portfolio.

About the Role

The Advanced Robotics Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for traveling to customer sites for preventative maintenance, break fixes, and calibration of instrumentation. You will also be required to train customers on instrument functionality when needed and independently schedule maintenance activities. Prior experience with liquid handling automation and/or Opentrons robots is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform travel to customer sites for service on Opentrons robotics platforms
  • Document and communicate all actions performed while on-site
  • Independently perform basic troubleshooting activities to diagnose and resolve common issues remotely
  • Schedule maintenance and calibration of instrumentation
  • Train customers on instrument functionality
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering or related major, and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a customer-facing role, specifically in the life sciences industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with GitHub and Salesforce is preferred but not required. A solid understanding of how to debug code of automated liquid handlers and knowledge of Python is also desirable.

Estimated Salary Range

$80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on location and experience.
