Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at a SEMH School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, and social emotional mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with challenging behavior
  • Assist students with everyday school life, including academic and social activities
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Monitor and report student progress to the class teacher and other relevant staff
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, and social emotional mental health challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
