About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join our team at JP Morgan Chase Bank, National Association. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering reliable, industry-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Code Quality and Security: Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Architecture and Design: Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Problem Identification and Improvement: Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Community Engagement: Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Culture and Diversity: Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
  • Software Engineering Concepts: Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
  • System Design and Development: Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced-level implementation skills with Java and J2EE; Core Spring Framework and Spring boot.
  • Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge in one of Cassandra, Oracle, MS SQL and RDBMS database concepts.
  • Distributed Computing and Cloud: Experience with distributed computing environments (including YARN, Spark and Hadoop), cloud computing platforms (Amazon Web Services/AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and Kubernetes.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in one of scripting languages: Groovy, BASH, Shell, Python, Perl, GO.
  • Modern Development Technologies: Strong working knowledge of modern development technologies and tools such Agile, CI/CD, Git, Terraform and Jenkins.
Preferred Qualifications
  • JavaScript and Cloud Technology: Knowledge of working in JavaScript and contemporary JavaScript APIs such as ReactJS, JQuery, and/or Angular is a plus.
  • Cloud Certification: Certified in one or more cloud technology (AWS, Azure or GCP) is a plus.
