Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Design Engineer and contribute to the development of our water and wastewater infrastructure. As a graduate engineer, you'll have the chance to gain hands-on experience, work with industry-leading technology, and develop your skills in project management, people management, and stakeholder engagement.

You'll be responsible for preparing and contributing to the review of mechanical design deliverables, conducting site surveys, investigations, and asset condition assessments, liaising with contractors and suppliers, and understanding British standards and regulations. Our programme offers a unique blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to various teams across our design, delivery, and digital capability functions.

After completing your 27-month graduate programme, you can expect to land in an Assistant Design Engineer or Assistant Project Manager position. Our New Talent Team will guide and support you throughout your journey, and your line manager, mentor, and buddy will help you reach your full potential here at Severn Trent.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in an IMechE-accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering or a degree meeting IMechE's CEng accreditation.
  • BEng graduates will be encouraged to register for IEng with a requirement for further learning to be undertaken for CEng registration; MEng graduates do not.
  • A strong interest in protecting the environment and a desire to work with industry-leading technology.
  • Knowledge in fluid mechanics, materials selection, and pipework design.
