About the Role

We are seeking a Care and Support Specialist to join our team at Waythrough, a national group of charities providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling, and domestic violence.

Job Description

This is a permanent part-time role requiring the post holder to work 22.5 hours per week in our Melbourne View service, a 24-hour supported living service with 12 self-contained flats for people ages 16 and over, living in Cumbria, and with a primary diagnosis of mental health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping and inspiring individuals to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community by working with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing individualised support plans that cater to each person's unique needs and goals
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to help individuals manage their daily lives, including domestic and finance management skills, accessing work, leisure, or educational opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate records of individual progress and updating support plans as needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A caring and compassionate nature, with empathy and enthusiasm for helping others
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Flexibility to participate in a weekly rota system and be available for on-call duties
