About the Role

Forth Ports Limited is seeking a highly skilled Marine Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Marine Department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Marine Compliance within our established standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of our Marine Safety Management System (MSMS) to ensure compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead on providing regular update reports to the Marine Management Team to ensure any issues or incidents are quickly addressed.
  • Collaborate with Harbour Masters, Marine Managers, and Deputies to ensure they are managing and complying with the requirements of the MSMS and PMSC.
  • Develop and maintain emergency plans, including Estuarial Contingency Plans, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the audit function of the Marine Department and issue licenses for Marine Operations and Towage.
  • Monitor and liaise with facilities, small harbours, and leisure traffic to ensure obligations with the PMSC are met.
  • Receive and maintain records of pollution, navigation, and marine incidents, and allocate them to the correct stakeholders.

Requirements

  • STCW certification or Port-related qualifications and/or demonstrated SMS compliance management experience.
  • A sound knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code and SHEQ Management systems.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks in a dynamic port environment.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Suite.
  • Full UK driving license.
