Domestic Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Services Assistant to join our team at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. As a key member of our Domestic Services Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality domestic services, including cleaning, laundry, and waste management.
- Work collaboratively with the Domestic Services team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the hospital.
- Assist with the safe storage and maintenance of domestic services stock and supplies.
- Operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Work in accordance with the hospital's Infection Control policy and assist with the delivery of special (barrier) cleaning as required.
- Report any accidents, near misses, or unsafe situations to management.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Able to contribute to the Domestic Services Department's aims and objectives.
- Engage with the hospital's IPR process to identify personal and development training needs.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner towards all service users and management.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
- Be reliable, willing, and conscientious, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
- Have excellent customer service skills, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Be punctual and a good timekeeper.
- Be able to problem-solve with support and use your own initiative.
- Be reflective and self-critical, with the ability to take constructive criticism positively.
- Have the ability to read and understand to the required standard.
