Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor to join our team at Themis Recruit. Our client, a top 150 law firm, is looking for a skilled professional to handle police station and magistrates court work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client interviews to take instructions on criminal allegations
  • Conduct legal research and advise on points of law and practice
  • Attend the Police Station to provide advice and assistance
  • Represent clients in the Magistrates Court
  • Conduct Crown Court litigation and instruct Counsel
  • Draft legal documents and letters
  • Work in accordance with the Office Manual
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Handle a diverse caseload of criminal matters with precision and diligence
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to ensure optimal client outcomes
Requirements
  • Ideal candidates will have between 0-5 years of post-qualification experience, however our client will consider more experienced candidates with up to 10 years of PQE
  • Hold Duty Solicitor Status. If you are not duty qualified, the hiring firm will assist in helping you become duty qualified
  • Hold Police Station Accreditation Status
  • Have good attention to detail in reviewing and preparing documentation
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative legal team
  • Have excellent IT skills
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Understand the importance of and provide first-class client care
