Role Overview

Vermelo RPO is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst - Modelling Expert to join our growing team. As a key member of our pricing team, you will be responsible for utilising your technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry and market leading tools to produce creative and actionable pricing solutions.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Providing technical leadership on WTW toolkit (in particular Emblem and Radar) to drive forward effective and efficient solutions which deliver business requirements and add demonstrable value.
  2. Providing thought leadership on modelling concepts.
  3. Leading and managing the development of effective and efficient solutions which deliver business requirements and add demonstrable value.
  4. Ensuring that all team members follow quality assurance processes and manage risk adhering to all relevant policies.
  5. Researching, developing and championing the use of best practice methods and standards and ensuring they are embedded throughout the department.
  6. Planning, designing and leading the development of Vermelo RPO's pricing capability.
  7. Through ongoing research, maintaining an extensive knowledge of statistical techniques to ensure Vermelo RPO has a market leading approach to analysis and modelling.
  8. Assisting in making tactical and strategic decisions.

Key Skills and Experience:

  1. Previous experience within general insurance pricing.
  2. Experience with some of the following predictive modelling techniques; Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Nets and Clustering.
  3. Experience in statistical and data science programming languages (e.g. R, Python, PySpark, SAS, SQL).
  4. A good quantitative degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science).
  5. Proven experience of modelling using WTW toolkit (Emblem and Radar).
  6. Proficient at communicating results in a concise manner both verbally and written.
