About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for our service users, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with a focus on menu planning, food preparation, and presentation. You will work closely with our Head Chef to maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking into account special requests and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established protocols.
  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our service users, staff, and visitors, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Assist with food preparation, cooking, and presentation for conferences and banquets.
  • Participate in food costings and contribute to the development of new menus.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking qualification.
  • Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential).
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable).
  • Previous experience in a similar environment, with a focus on menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Previous experience in delivering a service on a large scale.
  • Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget experience.
