About the Role

As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective planning of transport operations. Your ability to manage and plan orders from multiple sites across the UK, along with your proactive approach to continuous improvement, will be key to your success in this role.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to succeed in a pressurised environment. You will have a strong customer focus on delivery performance and commercial and financial acumen, with a drive to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Subcontract and plan orders from multiple sites across the UK.
  • Plan the daily workload of fleet vehicles based on site and out bases.
  • Report problems, deal with issues, and address any queries that may arise.
  • Plan collections per day on a time-critical basis.
  • Maintain and exceed agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Proactively seek continuous improvements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable but not required.
  • Experience in planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots.
  • A strong analytical skillset, with proficiency in Excel, including standard formulas.
