Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the Hull area. As a key player in our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of residential new builds and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of sub-contractors and negotiate agreements.
  • Prepare and review bills of quantity.
  • Monitor and reconcile project costs.
  • Collaborate with site management and stakeholders on valuation and final account agreements.
  • Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in residential new builds and refurbishments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and relevant codes of practice.
  • Familiarity with JCT forms of contract; NEC experience is a plus.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Analytical skills to assess technical and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Located within a reasonable commuting distance to the Hull area.
