Job Title: Financial Controller for Luxury Fashion Designer Brand

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at H International Consultant / HIa Legal. Based in Central London, you will report directly to the Finance Director and be part of the senior leadership team working alongside the Sales Director and Commercial Director to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, including the management accounts pack, for wholesale and retail entities.
  • Consolidate financial data, prepare supporting schedules, and ensure variances, budgets, and forecasts are fully understood and explained.
  • Provide financial reports to the Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer for review and presentation within set deadlines.
  • Manage and reconcile Profit and Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, along with necessary schedules, for review by the Finance Director.
  • Prepare Year End audit packs and coordinate with external auditors for Year-End audit.
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounts payable and management accountants' entries, including Fixed Asset Register schedules, bank reconciliation, credit card transactions, prepayments accruals, and intercompany invoices.
  • Prepare and present bi-weekly cashflow models and review and manage bi-weekly payment runs.
  • Enter monthly records, including retail sales and their reconciliations, payroll records.
  • Prepare and present weekly rolling cash flow and forecasting.
  • Handle reporting to HMRC, including VAT Returns and ad hoc forms.
  • Act as the point of contact for transactional banking and insurers.
  • Assist with intercompany and foreign exchange (FX) transactions.
Requirements:
  • Support the FD in preparing the annual budget, providing detailed schedules, variance analysis, and forecasts.
  • Minimum intermediate level of Excel required.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new Purchase Order (PO) system to the wider business.
  • Act as a business partner for marketing, collaborating with marketing heads to ensure marketing expenditures align with the budget.
Team:
  • Mentor and develop the skills of the Accounts Payable team and Management Accountants.
  • Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met by the team.
