About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tool Management Center Technician to join our team at Atlas Copco. As a key member of our UK Service Team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining production assembly tooling at our customer premises in Leyland Trucks, Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and carry out preventative maintenance (PM) and calibration of equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair damaged equipment
  • Highlight areas of improvement, including production line assembly processes, assembly and tightening strategies, equipment schedules, and reporting
  • Re-program and upgrade assembly tools and controller systems
  • Provide 2nd line support to the customer when required
  • Offer advice and feedback on tightening techniques and strategies
  • Support software applications for assembly systems and customer operator guidance systems
  • Liaise with the customer and communicate any issues that may affect their production
  • Complete all required reporting through appropriate systems
  • Liaise with internal Atlas Copco departments for offsite activities
  • Organize and manage spare parts requirements for maintained equipment
  • Implement 5S processes in the provided workspace

Requirements

  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite and Windows environment
  • Knowledge of industrial power tools and spindles
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Eye for detail and commitment to seeing the job through to a successful conclusion

Working Arrangements

  • Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with a potential for production startup on Monday
  • Occasional weekend work may be required
