We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at UCAS. As a key member of our Legal and Governance team, you will play a critical role in providing timely, outcomes-focused, and commercially astute legal advice to support the charity and its trading subsidiary, UCAS Media.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and manage legal risks within the company, advising on appropriate ways to mitigate such risks that are relevant and proportionate to UCAS and its activities.
- Prepare, negotiate, draft, revise, and finalize various contract documents, including Terms of Service and range of terms and conditions to support business activities.
- Support the Legal and Governance teams with updating and maintaining effectively completed legal agreements, advice, and legal precedents.
- Maintain our Legal and Regulatory Register, keeping up to date with legislative changes that may impact on UCAS' business in terms of compliance.
- Qualified solicitor or legal executive with a proven track record of drafting and advising on commercial contracts and procurement.
- Experience of identifying and managing legal risk across a diverse legal portfolio, utilizing a risk-based approach to delivering pragmatic advice and guidance.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail, particularly in contractual matters.
- Team player with a positive and proactive approach, outcomes-focused, and willing to work flexibly with colleagues of differing skills and experience.
- Salary up to £50,000.
- 30 days annual leave (pro rata for part-time) plus 3 concessionary days over Christmas and bank holidays.
