Senior Fixed Income and Derivatives Analyst

Kinetech is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fixed Income and Derivatives Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the investment team, you will be responsible for managing investment risks for the fixed income portfolio within the Shareholder/Non-Profit portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage investment risks for the fixed income portfolio, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and challenge appointed fixed income and derivative managers to ensure optimal portfolio performance.
  • Maintain and enforce the Derivative Risk Policy, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Prepare monthly management information (MI) for the asset portfolio, providing insights into portfolio performance and risk exposure.
  • Support the ALM team in managing the fixed income portfolio within the Matching Adjustment fund, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on rates, credit, and derivative risks, advising the investment team on risk management strategies.
  • Develop processes to ensure derivative operations align with policy standards across managers and retained services, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly derivative reports on liquidity, collateral, and counterparty exposure, providing critical insights into portfolio risk.
  • Review and recommend improvements to meet market and regulatory best practices for fixed income and derivatives portfolios, ensuring Kinetech remains at the forefront of industry standards.
  • Proactively identify control weaknesses and recommend process improvements, ensuring the investment team operates with the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure end-to-end understanding of all operational tasks, ensuring consistency in standard processes and minimizing risk exposure.
  • Support the wider investment team and CIO as needed, providing expertise and guidance on risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA and PRA conduct standards and notify regulators as required, maintaining Kinetech's reputation for regulatory excellence.
About You
  • Experience in the asset management or investment industry, with a strong background in derivatives and/or investments.
  • Proven experience managing relationships with third parties and external investment managers, with a strong understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
  • Good knowledge of life assurance and pensions business, with experience with bulk purchase annuities desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the UK regulatory environment and experience working with regulators in the life insurance sector.
