Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts
  • Respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required
  • Carry out asset verification
  • Install replacement/additional equipment
  • Take part in the on-call rota
  • Conduct site surveys as required
  • Train apprentices
  • Act at all times in a professional and diligent manner, considering the needs of the client
  • Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call, and Access Control in accordance with relevant British Standards
  • Correctly complete engineer service reports
  • Report deficiencies or deviations in systems
  • Report on and maintain emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers, AOVs, etc.
  • Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to keep replenished and appropriately stocked
  • Have a Health and Safety mindset, looking at possible risks associated

About the Role:
As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be working with a Local Authority, providing maintenance and repair services for fire alarm systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the systems are functioning correctly and safely. If you have experience in fire alarm installation and maintenance, and are looking for a new challenge, this could be the perfect role for you.

Requirements:
  • Experience in fire alarm installation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of British Standards for fire alarm systems
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
