Job Title: Research Assistant - Progressive Neurological Conditions

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the Research Centre at St Andrew's Healthcare. The successful candidate will provide research assistance to the Head of the Programme for Progressive Neurological Conditions, supporting the delivery of high-quality research addressing important issues in mental health and neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of the Programme in the setup and management of research projects, including participant recruitment, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Contribute to literature reviews and database searches, and assist in the development of research proposals.
  • Support the dissemination of research findings through presentations and publications.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as reasonably requested by the Head of the Programme.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in a health-related subject, with experience of conducting literature reviews and basic research design. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team.

Requirements:

  • 2:1 or above in a health-related subject, with a dissertation by research.
  • Experience of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques, and understanding of research governance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and awareness of NVivo and SPSS.
