Internal Auditor

Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd is seeking an experienced Internal Control/SOX Auditor to join our Compliance team at our Head Office in Hebburn. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls and compliance with SOX regulations.

• Establish and maintain an internal audit plan to ensure compliance with SOX regulations and ISO accreditations.
• Perform internal control testing and audits to identify and mitigate risks within the business.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of annual walkthroughs with process owners to identify gaps in existing processes.
• Assess the effectiveness of processes and controls over financial and operational functions.
• Communicate identified control deficiencies to management and the compliance committee to ensure timely mitigation of risks.
• Manage and supervise all internal auditing activities for the business and communicate findings via written reports.
• Monitor and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR and UK Data Protection legislation.
• Occasional travel to other locations for internal audit and training purposes.

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade C and above)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Demonstrable experience gained from working within an Audit/Compliance Department
• Experience in SOX testing, accounting, auditing, and information technology audits
• Able to deliver quality results within deadlines
• Excellent time management skills and strong organisational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent IT skills, being proficient with applications such as MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Certification in SOX or internal audit
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in a finance-related role
