As a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors of the energy industry, we are seeking a highly skilled I&C Design Technical Lead to join our team.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the engineering assessment, design, and safety justification of the SMR300 for deployment in the UK and worldwide. This role requires a strong background in integrated digital plant control design, specifically control and protection systems and diverse actuation systems, as well as experience with applicable (including nuclear-specific) IEEE, IEC, ISA, and ANSI codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead on I&C Systems Engineering for SMR-300 plant protection, control, and monitoring systems.
- Demonstrate SMR-300 I&C architecture suitability for safety functional claims.
- Demonstrate production excellence of the I&C Platform(s) utilised in SMR-300.
- Oversight, as Intelligent Customer, of key evidence supporting safety claims.
- Support the development of the I&C chapter of the Safety Case for submission in the SMR-300 GDA.
- Coach and mentor to develop the team and the individuals in technical and personal skills enabling them to deliver.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external organizations including the nuclear regulators.
- Defend I&C design positions.
- Degree qualified in an engineering or science related discipline.
- Must possess excellent credentials in principles of power plant digital control design.
- Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to engage credibly within and external to the business.
- Strong presentation and communication skills – able to present at multiple organisational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders.
- A credible decision maker, able to create confidence through crafting of strong justifications and arguments.
- Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
- Experience with integrated control systems.
- Experience with Human Machine Interface assessments.
- Cyber Risk Assessments.
