About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Recovery Champion. In this role, you will provide a welcoming and consistent environment in our open access area, creating links with local communities and working to target individuals affected by drugs and alcohol who are not in touch with mainstream services.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, identifying individuals who require support and connecting them with relevant services.
  • Attend team meetings and group supervision to share best practices and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Meet with individuals to discuss their personal goals and provide support, as well as working with families affected by drugs and alcohol to discuss their personal goals and support needs.
  • Utilize existing local resources and build community awareness, signposting individuals to relevant agencies.
  • Assist the Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice and support opportunities.
About You:

We are looking for an individual with lived experience of drug or alcohol misuse, who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as good IT skills. You will be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, remaining empathetic and non-judgmental towards service users.

  • Confident in working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and travel as required, including in areas with limited public transportation.
