Job Title:

Postdoctoral Research Assistant - Renewable Energy and Sustainability

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our team at the University of Reading. The successful candidate will work on the Value4Farm project, a collaborative initiative funded by the EU Horizon Europe program. The project aims to integrate renewable energy into farming, increasing on-farm renewable energy production while preserving food production, soil health, biodiversity, and reducing water and fertilizer usage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review key literature related to social acceptance, particularly in the context of renewable energy
  • Design and implement stakeholder interviews and questionnaires related to social acceptance
  • Analyse data to evaluate social acceptance of renewable energy value chains and present findings to a range of audiences
Requirements:
  • PhD in social sciences, agriculture, energy, or related discipline
  • Good written and communication skills and an ability to summarise scientific information
  • Knowledge of issues relating to sustainability, agriculture/energy specifically in the EU context
  • Experience of using social science research techniques
