Banbury, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Haas F1 Team Full time
Electronics and Systems Specialist

MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is a unique organization that excels both on and off the track. We don't follow the status quo and have made a name for ourselves as the team that does things differently. You may have seen us on Netflix or know that we're the only American-owned team on the Formula 1 grid, but we're also more than that.

We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK, and Maranello in Italy – each staffed by passionate, loyal, and hardworking advocates. At Haas, you'll be involved in various areas of the team, working on a range of projects, and gaining hands-on experience while collaborating with some of the best minds in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the electrical build and disassembly of the chassis prior to and post-event, including the fitment of all electrical hardware, installing harnesses, fitting sensors, terminating parts on-car, and mechanically installing any other piece of electronic equipment.
  • Have an excellent understanding of Data Acquisition Systems and be able to use System Monitor to set up all on-car systems associated with the SECU.
  • Use Atlas and System Monitor to ensure electronic boxes, networks, and sensors are set up and operating correctly and within their limits prior to and during sessions.
  • Configure ATLAS Data Server (ADS) and work alongside ATLAS clients to ensure telemetry and offloaded data is working correctly.
  • Support current car Race Team when required.
  • The manufacture of small to medium harnesses, sensor termination, and test box and leads.
  • Work closely with your car crew pre, during, and post-event to ensure electronic parts are delivered to the chassis and installed correctly and safely, maintained during the event, and removed correctly and made ready for reuse.
  • Play an active role in electronic fault investigations, permanent rectifications, and temporary solutions, always maintaining reliability. Work closely with the Trackside Faults team to ensure faults are reported correctly with immediate solutions and permanent fix recommendations.
  • Have an understanding of the high and low voltage electrical design and be capable of navigating through the electrical system components using drawings to confidently investigate issues and install components correctly.
  • Support off-car electrical infrastructure/equipment such as tyre blankets and starter packs.
  • Using the component Lifing System to manage all electrical parts, requiring constant monitoring to ensure all component lifing transactions are carried out correctly, maintaining complete component lifing and servicing integrity. This will also include the stock management of all electrical components, consumables, test equipment, and tooling.
  • Maintain current stock of on-car parts and highlight any shortages.
  • The role includes the pre- and post-event set-up and pack-up of electrical and general garage and office equipment.
  • Help to promote a good safe working environment both at the track and in the factory workshop, ensuring components, tooling, and equipment are in good working order and stored correctly.
  • Follow health & safety regulations at all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Heritage Lead Mechanic, Head of Controls and Systems, or their designee.
Requirements:
