About the Role

Kirklees Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Capital Development and Delivery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering construction-related projects and programmes, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver construction projects and programmes, including new build and extension/remodelling schemes
  • Provide client-side quantity surveying services, including cost planning, budgeting, and contract administration
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project sponsors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Contribute to the development of business cases, project proposals, and tender documents
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards

Requirements

  • Strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in delivering construction projects and programmes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven track record of working on capital programmes and portfolios of projects from inception through to completion
  • Highly developed organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications, including a degree in a relevant field and professional membership of a relevant institution
