Job Title: Hotel Sous Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Hotel Sous Chef to join our team at DDH Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel restaurant and kitchen.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Head Chef in their absence and take charge of the kitchen.
  • Ensure that all chefs de partie are familiar with the day's requirements and are working efficiently.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to ensure that the necessary stocks are on hand at the right quality and quantity.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all statutory and company hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure that all staff are treated fairly and with respect, and that fair discipline is maintained.
  • Monitor and control food costs, and implement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and implement menus, specials, and promotions to drive sales and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Train and develop subordinate staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Attend seminars and training courses to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, and the ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
