Social Work Specialist for Children in Care

Doncaster Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Social Worker to join our dedicated Children in Care Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out statutory visits to children in care, ensuring their needs are met and their wellbeing is prioritized.
- Chair meetings to discuss and develop care plans, working closely with children, young people, and their families.
- Provide expert guidance and support to carers, ensuring they have the necessary resources to provide the best possible care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including healthcare and education teams, to provide a seamless and comprehensive service.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A professional social work qualification, with registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working with children and families, with a strong understanding of child-centered practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the service.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based approaches.
