About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at Travelers, where you will play a critical role in assessing and managing risk for our property and casualty business. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and pricing risks, developing and implementing underwriting strategies, and collaborating with our underwriting team to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate risks for property and casualty business, including identifying and mitigating potential risks
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives, including pricing and reserving
  • Collaborate with underwriting team to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions
  • Communicate with brokers and clients to provide underwriting guidance and support
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to underwriting decisions
Requirements
  • Proven experience in underwriting, preferably in property and casualty classes of business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to evaluate complex risks and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products and underwriting principles, with ability to apply this knowledge to underwriting decisions
