Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee company data centers and ensure the optimal functioning of rack systems.
  • Provide hands-on support, troubleshooting, and resolution of system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Take charge of the company's phone system, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Provide 24x7 cover for critical company systems, ensuring constant availability and rapid resolution of any issues.
  • Lead and manage the small IS department and staff,
  • Investigate, report, and propose improvements to company infrastructure, guiding its future direction and helping it scale effectively.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to drive infrastructure improvements and develop long-term IT strategies.
  • A hands-on IT professional with experience in server management, networking, data centers, and communications systems.
  • An effective leader with experience managing small teams and ensuring they are equipped and motivated to provide top-notch support.
  • Able to maintain a calm, focused approach while providing 24x7 support coverage.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Cisco Expertise: Hands-on experience or training with Firewalls, Switches, and Routers.
  • Windows Server: Strong understanding and practical knowledge.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Web Hosting: Experience with Microsoft IIS.
  • SQL Server Administration: Proficiency in database backups, running scripts, and scheduling jobs.
  • Virtualization: Knowledge of Hyper-V.
  • Active Directory: Expertise in group policy management.
  • High Availability Solutions: Experience with failover clustering and replication technologies.
  • Backup Management: Proficient in managing and maintaining backup systems.
  • Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of PowerShell and Scripting languages.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure and/or AWS.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
