Technical Procurement Placement Student

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Procurement Placement Student to join our team in Huddersfield. As a key member of our Corporate Organization, you will be responsible for supporting our Purchasing function and contributing to the success of our global operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prototype procurement, including order management, building supplier relationships, and expediting components from global locations.
- Support the engineering function in sourcing components for validation and test work, ensuring deliverables are met in line with test requirements.
- Collaborate with the global technical sourcing team to support procurement and supplier risk management activities, including supplier confidentiality agreements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with different business units within Cummins.
- Contribute to the development of common processes, tools, and resources across the team.
- Prepare and present project updates to the business.
Requirements
- Working towards a degree in supply chain or business-related field, although not limited to these subjects.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain practices and awareness of purchasing ethics and risk management.
- Structured approach to problem-solving and project management, with the ability to manage concurrent projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- IT literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and online communication tools.
