Finance Business Partner - Centre of Excellence

We're seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to collaborate with our Centre of Excellence team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the development of our capital investment plan, valued at approximately £20 billion over the next decade. This role is ideal for a high-performing individual who is eager to understand our regulatory framework and contribute to our key projects, including those focused on net zero and the T3 regulatory Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, including a finance partner, finance analyst, and graduate, across various activities such as ET QRF Totex consolidation, Reopener Submissions, and Cost Benefit Analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders, regulators, and finance teams to drive business improvements and enhance commercial performance.
  • Link business targets and imperatives to our group strategy, ensuring a strategic business plan that is owned by the business and achievable.
  • Act as a centre of excellence for capital investment and commercial business decisions, providing clarity on complex commercial scenarios while considering commercial and business risks and broader strategic imperatives.
  • Ensure robust control frameworks are in place covering the investment decision process.
  • Act as finance lead on RIIO-T2 Reopener and RIIO-T3 submissions, ensuring well-justified, consistent costings and business cases are submitted to Ofgem, enabling optimal outcomes.
  • Demonstrate financial and business leadership to ensure our business delivers against all expected outcomes.
  • Drive real commercial benefit to the organisation.

We've recently announced plans to invest around £60 billion across the next five years, a near doubling in investment compared to the prior period. A large part of this investment will be across the UK within the Electricity Transmission business, where we maintain the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales. We take electricity generated from windfarms and other power sources and transport it through our network of pylons, overhead lines, cables, and substations. It then goes on to separate lower voltage local distribution networks, which connect directly to homes and businesses.
