Job Requirements

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and caring Teaching Assistant to join our school team from September. The successful candidate will be based in Year 5 initially, but may be required to work in other Key Stage 2 classes each year. We are looking for a conscientious and committed professional who believes all children can achieve high standards and demonstrates consistently high expectations of all pupils in all aspects of school life.

The contract will begin on Monday, 4th November, subject to relevant checks being completed. We appreciate that some applicants may have to serve 4 weeks' notice in their current roles, so we can be flexible to allow notice to be worked.

Responsibilities will include general classroom support for all pupils, facilitating class teaching, and individual and small-group interventions for pupils requiring additional help. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in close partnership with the Class Teacher. Understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, vocabulary, and different approaches, as well as a good understanding of Statutory assessments for Key Stage 2 pupils, is essential.

Candidates need to be aware that holidays for Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire sometimes differ significantly, so you may need to consider this if you have children attending Nottinghamshire schools.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday, 16th October 2024. Candidates will be informed if they are being invited to interview on the morning of Monday, 14th October 2024.
