Careers Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Careers Manager to lead our excellent Careers Department at Barton Peveril Sixth Form College. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high-performing team, including an Aspire Programme Coordinator, Careers Advisers, a Work Experience Coordinator, and a Work Experience Administrator.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Careers Department to ensure students are fully prepared for the demands of the 21st century.
- Forge strong links with universities, professional associations, and businesses to provide students with opportunities for career development and growth.
- Provide one-to-one guidance and group work to students of all abilities, with a focus on ensuring they achieve their career aspirations.
- Manage and maintain relationships with external partners, including universities and businesses, to provide students with access to career opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the changing needs of the workplace and the skills required for success in the 21st century.
- Education to degree level and a Level 6 Diploma in Career Information and Advice.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and external partners.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with careers software.
- Ability to work creatively with students and staff to develop innovative solutions to career development challenges.
