Job Title: Apprentice- General Engineering

Stafforce Recruitment is seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to lead our esteemed client's engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the engineering team is well-resourced and supported to meet engineering KPIs that align with overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and motivate the engineering team to achieve high performance standards.
  2. Assist in the recruitment, retention, and development of staff to ensure the engineering team is well-resourced.
  3. Prioritise and manage engineering workloads and activities, delegating tasks efficiently to team members.
  4. Identify and resolve any performance or safety issues with plant or equipment promptly.
  5. Develop and implement a cost-effective engineering stores system.
  6. Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
  7. Promote Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  8. Actively contribute to waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Ensure all completed work meets safety and hygiene standards in line with FSA and health and safety legislation.
  10. Pursue personal development through training and work-based experiences.
  11. Develop and implement preventive maintenance systems and inspections.
  12. Conduct Health and Safety risk assessments for engineering activities in partnership with the Health and Safety Officer.
  13. Participate as a member of the site's Food Safety, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP team.
  14. Ensure all machinery operates at optimum performance with minimal disruption to production.
  15. Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including on-call duties for after-hours issues.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Extensive practical experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  3. Outstanding organisational and project management capabilities.
  4. Proficient analytical skills to interpret data for effective strategy development.
  5. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet time-sensitive projects.
  6. Food hygiene certification - desired.
  7. Previous experience as an Engineering Manager in a food production environment - desired.
