Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a talented Graduate Structural Engineer to join our Structures team in Cambridge.

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will work closely with senior colleagues on high-profile projects across our large portfolio of clients. Your responsibilities will include the production of designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports. You will also have the opportunity to work towards professional qualification with the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivery of fully coordinated structural designs on a wide range of projects.
  • Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, design teams, and contractors.
  • Development of skills in the use of the latest design software, such as Tekla Structural Designer and Revit.
  • Assistance in design reviews and verification checks.
  • Undertaking site visits and surveys.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng) with experience in structural design.
  • Previous technical or industry experience is advantageous.
  • Commitment to achieving chartered status with IStructE or ICE.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, with knowledge of design and analysis programs.
  • Ability to work constructively in a team, finding holistic design solutions.
  • Experience of working with Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Understanding of the CDM Regulations and designers' responsibilities.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interest in good Architecture.
