At Footballco, we are seeking a skilled Commercial Contract Solicitor to join our in-house legal team. This role will provide an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to contribute to the growth and development of our business.

Job Description:

  • To provide practical legal advice on commercial contracts across the Football Group of companies worldwide.
  • To review and manage contract and commercial agreement reviews on a wide range of matters.
  • To undertake legal research on applicable regulations, laws, and legal requirements.
  • To prepare legal documents, such as contracts, correspondence with other parties, and when necessary, legal pleadings.
  • To handle confidential client or case information.
  • To prepare reports for the group Legal Counsel and/or other employees of FootballCo.
  • To conduct meetings with internal clients and provide them with legal information and take instructions.
  • To monitor changes to government guidelines or regulations and submit reports on pertinent changes.
  • To organize legal files and administration of workflow and case management systems.
  • To maintain contracts databases.
  • To arrange meetings and liaise with clients and other lawyers.
  • To attend to general administrative duties and basic clerical tasks.
  • To archive and dispose of documents following department protocols.
  • To liaise with external agencies to organize translators, notaries, and transcribers.
  • To liaise with external legal and company secretarial services providers.
  • To provide support to the legal, Finance, and Human Resources teams in implementing training new policies and procedures and operational and organizational objectives.
  • To comply with all relevant internal rules, policies, and procedures.
  • To undertake any other such duties or general tasks and hours of work as may reasonably be required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A good understanding of contract law and commercial contracts.
  • An ability to provide clear and concise legal advice.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional qualifications as a Solicitor or Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales.
  • Good technical and drafting skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Sound knowledge of the Law and Legal System.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work flexibly to tight deadlines and deal with competing demands from different areas of the group.
  • Comfortable handling large workloads and able to manage time effectively.
