Job Summary

The successful applicant will join a dynamic team as an experienced and autonomous practitioner in Clinical Perfusion Science, contributing to the treatment of patients with varied pathologies. The post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of duties to deliver clinical services, including conventional cardiac surgery, complex aortic, cardiothoracic transplantation, adult congenital heart disease, liver surgery, and MCS support. The post holder will take responsibility for a specific clinical and non-clinical aspect of the service, participate in a 24-hour on-call rota, and divide time between clinical and managerial responsibility while maintaining CPD. All required training and supervision will be provided. Opportunity exists to support the treatment of NHS patients through local private healthcare providers. A recruitment and retention premium is applied to this post and reviewed annually.

The Senior Perfusionist will work up to 4 days per week undertaking a shift pattern to suit the needs of the clinical service and contribute to out-of-hours work requiring a 30-minute response time.
