Job Summary:

Our client, a prestigious public sector organization in Wales, is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing telemetered instruments, supporting Hydrometry and Telemetry services, and ensuring the health and safety of themselves, the team, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Securely acquire and transfer hydrometric data in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Prioritize health and safety while supporting Hydrometry & Telemetry network management.
  3. Calibrate monitoring equipment, measure channel flow, maintain sites, install monitoring equipment, and input data into the hydrometric archive (WISKI).
  4. Assist in fault finding and repair of telemetry outstation equipment to minimize disruption to Flood Warning Service or Water Management sites.
  5. Assist with the onsite installation of new small-scale hydrometric sites, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and customer requirements.

Requirements:
  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a scientific or engineering subject, with ideally some relevant experience.
  2. Understanding of Hydrometry and Telemetry systems and their role in the organization's Water Management and Flood Risk strategies.
  3. Regular travel to and from sites within a defined area. Full UK driving license required.
  4. Aware of Welsh culture and a positive attitude towards linguistic and cultural diversity.
