Strategic Buyer Job Description

Contechs Consulting Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer to join their team in Whitley. As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for analysing, defining, and implementing market and sourcing strategies for specific commodities on behalf of our client.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Global Commodity Leader, you will have global responsibility for specific commodities.
  • You will utilise your experience to analyse and implement market and sourcing strategies for your designated commodities.
  • You will lead the global sourcing activity through the Global Sourcing Process (GSP) up to contract award.
  • You will develop and maintain supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to ensure strategic and programme alignment.
  • You will manage suppliers within your designated commodities, responsible for Supplier Business Reviews.
Requirements:
  • Negotiation and contract management skills are essential.
  • Development of strategies and project management skills are also critical.
  • Procurement experience is essential, with a focus on supplier relationship management.

  • A competitive salary of up to £37.11 umbrella rate per hour (depending on experience).
  • A flexible working arrangement, with circa two/three days in office (dependent on business needs).
